Ric Lukasiewicz

Board Member

Ric served as the Board Chair from January 2023- January 2025.  In addition to being a speaker Ric mentors men to learn their Kingdom calling and has helped over 40+ non-profit Boards and Executives create and drive generational impact. Ric is a Director with Kyndryl, a technology advisory and management firm.

Laura Asbell

Board Treasurer

Laura was one of the mentors for the first Denver BOH family in December 2015 and is still in touch with the family today. She joined the Board in August 2019 and was asked to be the Treasurer in 2020. Laura has over 40 years of accounting experience as a Controller, small business owner, and public accountant. She got her CPA over 30 years ago when she moved to the Denver area from the East Coast. She is semi-retired and a Contractor at CBIZ, a publicly traded corporation, preparing income tax returns. She has a Master’s of Taxation (University of Denver), MBA (Loyola College Baltimore), and BA (Duke University).

Laura has a blended family of four sons and nine grandchildren. She loves to travel with her family. Other interests include swimming and Zumba classes.

Andrew Langston

Board Member

Andrew joined the Bridge of Hope Board in January of 2024. Andrew is the principal founder of Roof & Solar Brokers Group, a consultative brokerage firm providing a unique white glove service to commercial building owners and investment groups. In addition, Andrew has formerly worked as a professional strength & conditioning coach, having coached professional athletes, military operators, and executives of a large tech corporation. Andrew and his wife, Kelsey, enjoy spending time with their daughter and two dogs, traveling, playing golf, working out, and fellowshipping with family and friends.

Nate Melchior

Vice Chair
Nate joined the Bridge of Hope Board in May 2018. Nate is the Director of Investments and Business Development at Dunton Commercial, a commercial property management and investment firm in Denver. He has spent his entire career in the Commercial Real Estate business.
Nate was born and raised in Littleton, CO where he attended Heritage High School. He is married and has three sons. Outside of work, Nate enjoys quality time with his family, camping, golfing, running, and attending Bronco games.

Valerie Philips

Board Member

Valerie joined the Bridge of Hope Board in January of 2023.  Valerie has been the owner of Falling Star Consulting since 2015, which helps small business owners with accounting and bookkeeping solutions.  Along with her husband, Shane, they also own First Steps Help, which provides financial resources to individuals after the death of a loved one.  Valerie resides in Castle Rock with her husband and five children.  She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, golfing, hiking, and volunteering at her church and her children’s schools.

Gina Abbey

Chair

Gina served in the USAF, worked as the Development Manager at Bridge of Hope, and currently, serves on the Board of Directors. She transitioned into the non-profit sector, where she found her true passion in serving others and making a meaningful impact on communities. With a positive and collaborative approach, Gina remains dedicated to empowering individuals and communities through her professional and volunteer work. Personally, Gina enjoys serving at church, coaching her kids’ volleyball teams, and traveling.

Darren Myers

Board Member

Darren is a Partner at Cerity Partners, where he serves as Head of Research and Portfolio Manager for the Marketable Alternatives investment program. Darren was previously a Partner and Director of Research at Agility before its merger with Cerity Partners in 2024. Prior to joining Agility, he served as a Senior Research Analyst at Tejas Securities Group, Inc., where he provided investment recommendations on special situations and distressed debt opportunities. Darren also served as a Senior Analyst at the University of Texas Investment Management Company focusing on hedge fund investments for the Marketable Alternative Investments portfolio. In his spare time, Darren is an active endurance athlete, having completed the Atacama Crossing in Chile, the RacingthePlanet Ultramarathon in Georgia, and IRONMAN North Carolina. He serves as vice-chair of the MBA Advisory Board at The University of Texas at Austin.

Kristin Pesce

Board Member

Kristin joined the Bridge of Hope Board in May of 2025. Kristin is a mission-driven leader with over a decade of experience in strategic partnerships, campaign development, and church engagement. With a Master of Arts in Leadership from Denver Seminary and a background in design and innovation, she has successfully led national initiatives at Compassion International, including church partnership strategies, product development, and multi-channel marketing efforts. Kristin is known for building collaborative relationships, turning vision into action, and developing creative strategies that drive growth and deepen impact. Outside of work, she’s a lifelong learner and globe-trotter. Kristin and her husband love getting outside for hikes and adventures, staying active at the gym, and hanging out with friends.

Jarrod Schleiger

Board Member

Jarrod is the market president for Bank of Colorado in Cherry Creek and has been in Community Banking for 20 years. A Colorado native, Jarrod holds a bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University and is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Jarrod enjoys being involved in the community, with service focus on self-sufficiency, entrepreneurship, and affordable housing.  Jarrod resides in Centennial, CO with his wife and four sons.

Outside of work, you can likely find him with his family in the mountains enjoying all of the beauty and fun our state has to offer or on a bicycle.
